Move Therapy and Wellness is a lifestyle practice that focuses on the Mind, Body and Spirit.  
With the belief that feelings of self-doubt, dissatisfaction, emptiness, instability, worry, unhappiness, uncertainty,
relationship issues or simply the desire for “more,” stem from
the need for physical, emotional, spiritual, social and
environmental balance, Move Therapy and Wellness provides therapy services that focus on the mind body connection.

Laura is the founder and clinical director of Move Therapy and Wellness.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher with experience in working with children, teens, young adults and families. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. She has 19 years of combined academic, professional and clinical training and counseling experience.

 Laura specializes in treating individuals who are experiencing chronic stress, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, emotional distress related to chronic illness Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and perinatal mood disorders including post-partum depression.  She is successful in helping people feel better about themselves, set and achieve goals, build or rebuild healthy relationships, work through challenges and design a path that will get them to where they want to be.  Laura uses a variety of therapeutic techniques including EMDR, trauma-informed, strengths-based, Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment and mindfulness based interventions.

She holds certifications in the treatment of perinatal mood disorders, depression and anxiety, yoga-informed psychotherapy, Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy (TIYT), mindfulness based stress reduction, holistic and nutrition education and coaching and is EMDR trained (working toward certification).

Megan Schnell, LCSW, CCTP, RYT 200

Megan is a staff therapist, yoga teacher at Move Therapy and Wellness. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Registered Yoga Teacher.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Purdue University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a specialization in mental health from Loyola University Chicago.  Megan specializes in treating individuals who are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and mood disorders. She has 10 years of combined academic, professional, and counseling experience.

Megan believes that no one is born knowing how to deal with unexpected trauma, especially sexual violence. Megan brings an empathetic, intuitive approach to therapy. She creates a safe and open space for exploration while giving you the tools for self-regulation. Through a variety of therapeutic strategies, including trauma-informed, strengths-based, acceptance commitment and mindfulness interventions, she helps her clients to gain insight and understanding into their mind-body connection, personal struggles, thought and behavior and relationship patterns.

Megan works with individuals, couples, and groups.  She also leads a variety of yoga based workshops and classes that combine psychotherapy, mindfulness and yoga techniques.  She incorporates mindfulness based therapy techniques including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, meditation and yoga into sessions and provides clients with practical mindfulness based tools to use in everyday life.  She has experience and training in treating children and adolescents and women who have experienced traumatic birth, perinatal loss and postpartum depression.  

Sarah Buividas, LCPC, CYT 200

Sarah is the Assistant Director of Clinical Services at Move Therapy and Wellness and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Yoga Teacher.  She has experience working with adults and families and specializes in treating individuals who are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, mood disorders and addictions.  Sarah has a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lewis University.  She has 12 years of combined academic, professional and wellness industry experience as well as 4 years of experience teaching vinyasa yoga and is currently the program director of an Opioid Treatment Program in Chicago.

Sarah believes that the foundation of mental health begins with balancing the fundamentals of nutrition, sleep and stress management.  She is passionate about helping clients to approach therapy from a holistic perspective in order to guide them in embracing the joys and struggles of their journey and to find value in their successes.

Sarah pulls therapeutic techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and yoga to help clients move towards increasing harmony within mind, body and spirit. Sarah is successful in helping clients struggling with life transitions, anxiety, addictions, relationships and job challenges.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys working out, skiing, cooking, connecting with nature and spending time with her family.

 

 

Ashley is a staff therapist at Move Therapy and Wellness and a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor and is currently a PhD candidate in Counselor Education & Supervision at Adler University. Ashley holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling with a specialization in Sports Psychology & Performance from Adler University and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Tougaloo College.  Additionally, Ashely has extensive cultural and mental health training from the countries of France and Costa Rica.

Ashley has a passion for working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, mood disorders, relationship struggles and individuals who have experienced trauma.  She specializes in athletic/performance psychology and enhancement, and addictions (​including but not limited to alcohol, opioids and marijuana)​.  Ashley is dedicated to helping individuals find and live in their purpose as well as in guiding them to be optimal versions of their true and authentic self. 

Ashley Lewis, LPC, PhDc, NCC

Ashley uses a variety of integrative and holistic/wholistic approaches with all clients, from traditional therapeutic modalities to BrainSpotting, and Spirituality.  Ashley's work and relationships with clients is authentic and collaborative, with the client's best interest at heart. ​Her passion and knowledge of holistic approaches to mental health and her understanding of culture, social justice, and athletics allows her to advocate for those in need of support, services or education.  Ashley works with individuals, groups, sports teams and in the corporate setting.

Ashley’s athletic and performance background is rooted in the sports of Basketball, Soccer, and Classical Vocal Performance. She is a fitness and nutritional enthusiast, living over 10 years as a vegetarian and plant-based consumer.

 

 

 

Lauren is the Director of Yoga and Yoga Therapy Programming at Move Therapy and Wellness.  She is a Registered Yoga Teacher and Trauma Informed Yoga Therapist.  Lauren has over 10 years of experience in teaching yoga, developing training programs for yoga teachers and engaging in her own yoga training and education.

Lauren Bellagamba, RYT, TIYT

Lauren is a long-time student of yoga, beginning her practice at the age of 15 in Chicago, IL where she currently lives and teaches.  She took yoga classes off and on in her early twenties until she injured her knee training for the Chicago Marathon. Running no longer an option, she began practicing yoga more regularly and found that it gave her body a new physical outlet. After her father passed away in 2007, yoga became more than just a physical practice with the incorporation of meditation and various breathing techniques; her practice evolved and became a healing source for her body, mind and spirit. 

When Lauren completed her 200-hour teacher training it was truly an eye-opening and a life-changing experience. She discovered her life’s passion-Teaching yoga. Lauren also has training in Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy, and continues to learn the many ways that yoga can be used to treat anxiety, depression and PTSD.  She is currently in the process of completing her 500 YTT with Yoga Medicine to become a registered Therapeutic Specialist.

At Move, Lauren is responsible for developing Move Therapy and Wellness's unique yoga team and yoga programming and co-creating yoga therapy programming that approaches yoga from a mental health framework-Offering classes that incorporate psychoeducation and research based therapeutic tools into each session.  Yoga classes at Move are designed to support Move's existing therapy clients and the general population through drop in yoga classes and speciality workshops.

Lauren's classes focus on alignment, strengthening and relaxation. Join her on the mat as she explores movement, breath-work and meditation while encouraging you to take time out of your day to celebrate your body, your mind and your practice.

Amy believes that bringing mindful awareness to our physical bodies as well as our mental state is essential for long-term wellness. Her therapeutic approach is informed by evidence-based practices including mindfulness based strategies, acceptance commitment therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. She regularly incorporates meditation and yoga into sessions in order to explore the relationship between the mind and body and move toward a place of self-compassion and body acceptance. 

 

 

 

Amy is an Eating Disorder Consultant for Move Therapy and Wellness.  She has experience in working with individuals, couples, families and groups and has extensive training in treating eating disorders and mood disorders as well as in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, depression, body image distress, relationship problems and unresolved trauma. 

 

Amy holds a masters degree from St Louis University and has 8 years of combined

academic, professional and yoga/meditation experience.  She believes in the importance of meeting you where you are; Providing a safe space for self-exploration and guidance in gaining insight into developing healthy coping skills to handle whatever challenges clients may be facing.

 Through an informed and skilled combination of varying modalities, Amy is successful in helping clients to defuse from problematic thoughts and behavioral habits/patterns, identifying and developing strengths and feelings of self-worth for an improved outlook and fulfilling present and future.  In her current role at Move, Amy is not working with individual clients but providing consultation and expertise in the area of Eating Disorders to the Move Therapy and Wellness Team.

Lauren is a staff therapist at Move Therapy and Wellness. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She values utilizing mindfulness as a strategy for grounding, and pulls from various techniques such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to provide clients with the optimal tools and skills to reach their greatest potential

Lauren has vast experience working with people in various stages of life transitions.

She utilizes a strengths-based approach along with gratitude practices to help people increase their ability to gain internal validation. Her empathetic and relaxed nature helps to create a safe, therapeutic space for clients to process their experiences and gain insight in order to deepen their relationship with themselves and with others.

Macauley Cliffe, LCSW, CYT

Macauley is a staff therapist and yoga teacher at Move Therapy and Wellness. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Yoga Teacher, and has completed her Level 1 Training as a Gottman Couples Therapist. She has experience working with children, teens, adults, and families. She holds her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration and has 8 years combined academic, professional, and clinical experience working with and treating individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, substance use disorders, relationship struggles, mood disorders, as well as personal problems and stress-related symptoms.

 

Macauley believes that the mind-body connection is one of the most essential paths to healing and seeks to use this as her guiding principle in working with clients. She draws from different therapeutic techniques including strengths-based, trauma-informed, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and yoga to create an open and nonjudgmental space where clients can guide their own self-determined path to healing.

She employs breath work, yoga, mindfulness, and other therapeutic techniques to get clients in touch with their most important values, develop a deeper mind-body connection and relationship with themselves, and identify their inner-most strengths and emotions to define and create a fulfilling life.

 

Stephanie is a staff therapist and yoga teacher at Move Therapy and Wellness. She is a Licensed Psychotherapist, Registered Yoga Teacher, and Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher (TIYT). Stephanie has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Indiana University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Northwestern University. Stephanie has 7 years combined academic, professional, and counseling experience.

Stephanie utilizes an eclectic approach that integrates mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed, somatic, and psychodynamic approaches to help her clients find balance, increased self-awareness, and holistic healing. Stephanie specializes in treating individuals who are experiencing symptoms related to anxiety, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), life transitions, mood disorders, and adjustment disorders. Stephanie has a special interest in working with individuals with chronic pain, trauma, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, and anxiety.

Stephanie believes that clarity and ease can come from connecting the mind, body and spirit.  She utilizes various mindfulness techniques such as gentle yoga, meditation and progressive muscle relaxation to help clients gain insight in the mind-body connection, regulate emotions, manage challenges and better understand themselves.  In addition to mind body based approaches, Stephanie uses a variation of techniques including; Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Melissa is a staff therapist at Move Therapy and Wellness. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher. Melissa graduated from DePaul University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and has worked in a variety of mental health settings, including Residential, Partial Hospitalization, and out-patient programs. She has significant clinical experience treating mood disorders, eating disorders, and trauma-related symptoms, as well as issues such as life transition, stress management, relationship problems, and body image.

Melissa utilizes a strengths based approach to help clients to better understand themselves and make meaningful and manageable steps towards positive change. Melissa emphasizes the importance of the mind and body connection and believes that understanding this connection is necessary for effective healing. Melissa uses principles from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Yoga-Informed Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in her work with clients and believes these principles allow client’s to find the optimal skills to manage life stressors and move toward self-acceptance.

Fahamisha "Misha" Williams LCSW, CYT

 

Misha is a staff therapist and yoga teacher at Move Therapy and Wellness . She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Yoga Teacher.  Misha earned her undergraduate degree and her Masters Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University.  She is passionate about helping adolescents and adults with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, chronic stress, life transitions, family conflict, learning disabilities, personality disorders and women's issues. In addition to her work in clinical practice, Misha is the founder of BGirl, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides no cost yoga and wellness education to adolescent girls and women of color.

In her sessions with clients, Misha uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), meditation and mindfulness based practices, motivational interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help each client reach their unique goals in holistic way. Misha believes that success can be achieved when easily defined, and she is committed to helping each client develop the skills and mindset to live their best life.  Misha finds joy in empowering individuals to define and attain success in practical ways on their own terms. She meets clients where they are leaves each client feeling heard, supported, and motivated to achieve their goals.

Katherine (Gracie) Fernandez LSW, CYT

 

Gracie is a staff therapist and yoga teacher at Move Therapy and Wellness . She is a Licensed Social Worker and Certified Yoga Teacher.  Gracie holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from DePaul University and received her 200 hr yoga certification from Core Power Yoga. In addition to her work in private practice, Gracie has experience in case management and crisis counseling in both hospital and outpatient settings.  Gracie has 7 years combined academic, professional, and counseling experience. 

Gracie's is a warm, empathetic and compassionate therapist with a passion for holistic health and wellness practices. Gracie works with clients to help them access feelings and emotions, to further and better understand themselves and to discover existing personal strengths and values.  Gracie uses a variety of therapeutic techniques including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Practices and yoga based therapies.   Gracie specializes in clients who are experiencing anxiety and depression, as well as those seeking guidance and support for stress management, relationship struggles and life transitions. Gracie enjoys working with young adults and adolescents as they are emerging into further self discovery and finding their identity.

Rickie Kostiner LPC, CYT

Rickie is a licensed psychotherapist, staff therapist, and experienced registered yoga instructor at Move Therapy. Rickie holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Brown University, as well as a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Rickie specializes in treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, as well as post trauma and complex trauma symptoms. She is an avid student of yoga and has been teaching and practicing for over eight years. Rickie has nine years of combined academic, professional, clinical, and wellness industry experience.

Rickie utilizes mindfulness based techniques to support clients through present day challenges while offering hope for their future and healing from their past. Grounded through the lens of mindfulness, Rickie incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities into her sessions including trauma informed, acceptance and commitment, narrative, and interpersonal neurobiology. Her goal as a clinician is to support clients to recognize that by gaining  awareness, compassion, and acceptance, everything they need to heal is already within.

Rickie has experience working with teens, adults, and couples. She also teaches and leads yoga programming and classes. By incorporating breath based mindfulness philosophy into her therapy sessions she is able to hold space for every individual and also provide specific services tailored to unique needs.

Johanna Hayes LPC, R-DMT

Johanna is a staff therapist at Move Therapy and Wellness. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Dance/Movement Therapist and Reiki Master. Johanna received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Arizona State University and her Master of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Columbia College Chicago.  Johanna has five years of combined academic, professional, and clinical experience and training.

Johanna uses a variety of approaches in treatment including trauma-informed mindfulness-based practices, dance/movement therapy, Reiki, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Polyvagal Theory. She has experience working with individuals with a history of sexual trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and those experiencing life and identity changes. Johanna is a kink and BDSM friendly therapist who operates from feminist theory lens in which she fosters the empowerment and creative expression of each individual.

Johanna believes everyone deserves a safe space to express themselves, and she hopes to continue fostering healing through the use of movement and development of the mind-body connection. 

Briana Ryan LSW, CYT

Bri is a staff therapist, yoga teacher, and therapeutic group facilitator with Move Therapy & Wellness. She is a Licensed Social Worker and Certified Yoga Instructor who teaches with a trauma-informed modality. She has experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults of all ages. Bri specializes in working with individuals who are experiencing symptoms related to addiction, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, mood disorders, perinatal anxiety and mood disorders and chronic stress. She holds a Master of Social Work from Loyola with a specialization in Mental Health and a sub-specialization in Group Therapy.  Briana has 6 years of combined academic, professional, and yoga experience. 

Bri utilizes the power of the therapeutic relationship to empower her clients to become self-actualized as she works to reduce shame and increase self-compassion. Utilizing an accessible, client-centered, strengths-based approach, Bri strives to create a nurturing environment wherein clients can find healing. She guides clients to identify not only their thoughts and emotions but also how their internal dialogue affects their physicality; she utilizes a holistic approach so clients can make their own connections between where they hold tension and what is going on in their lives. Bri employs different techniques including Psychodynamic Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) depending on client presentation.

Madison Suffredini, LPC, RYT

Madison is a staff therapist and yoga teacher at Move Therapy and Wellness. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher. Madison graduated from DePaul University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Madison has experience working in a variety of higher levels of mental health treatment including Inpatient Hospitalization, Residential treatment, and Partial Hospitalization. She has experience working with adolescents, adults, families, and groups. Madison has extensive training in treating eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, ARFID) and body image distress. Madison also has experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma related symptoms, life transitions, family conflict, and relationship problems.

Through a combination of evidence-based practices and varying therapeutic modalities, Madison believes in creating a space for her clients to feel comfortable with beginning to explore and reconnect with their mind, body, and awareness of their sense of self in hopes to regain their confidence in taking steps towards their values and goals again. Madison has experience utilizing techniques and interventions from varying modalities such as mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), body image flexibility, health at every size informed (HAES), trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches.

Madison Suffredini, LPC, RYT

Madison strives to guide, support, and empower her clients to recognize their own, unique strengths and resilience. She believes in a collaborative and trusting relationship between client and therapist; allowing space for exploration of what distorted thought patterns, intense emotions, or behaviors may be contributing to her client’s distress and struggle. Madison is successful in helping her clients to identify their fused or distorted thought patterns/beliefs about themselves and incorporates evidence-based skills to support her clients in creating some distance from these self-created narratives. Madison is passionate about supporting her clients to find some relief and begin to see the world through a more self-compassionate and psychologically flexible lens/perspective.
